Click hereWell, I would be standing strong and still you see
If my balance had not given way
And the bar that has been propping me up
It seems has started to sway
But at least I’m on my own two feet now
And I’m hoping the balance will come soon
And if I lean upon this bar a little harder
Maybe the bartender will sing us a tune
A song that will make you understand
How much I’m gonna love you some day
With a love that’s never been hungrier
Since it found you trying to run away
Now I’m sure you must be overwhelmed
And maybe even a little afraid
But the truth is out and I can’t hold back
Its time to keep the promises I made
So if I grab you in my arms so tight
And stare deep into your eyes
Tremble no more dear daughter of eve
For I will take you to where the safe harbor lies
Well, I know that this is all a little crazy
And that I have no right to feel this way
But the look in your eyes when I kissed you
Told me that all the bad dreams were chased away
So lets fill our glasses and drain another
And we’ll drink to come what may
And in my arms I’ll keep you safe and warm
And I’ll love you till the dying day
Another drink and if you're still standing, she'll be absolutely beautiful!
that seems like simple verse, but there's a lot going on in your poems. I've read them all and they remind me somewhat of Robert Browning's dramatic monologues. You have a strong poetic voice that comes across loud and clear. There's a naturally eloquent quality to it. I hope to read more from you. :)
Angeline
Clever, romantic, full of so many things. I'm utterly charmed. Indeed, let's drink to come what may.
