Battle

I'm in battle, a war raging within
Times of heartache and dismay
I fight for control, refusing to give in
I fight the music that speaks to my soul
Deep reaching words that call to my ever soft heart
Words so powerful I choke with the emotion
Melodies of dark kept secrets rise to the surface
Refusing to be buried any longer, demanding freedom
The battle rages on until I lose footing
Falling hard in battle, feeling control's murder
The battle is lost, I am taken
I am captured by pain and sorrow
Breathing Deep and plunging forward
I surrender to all...letting them take me deeply
Shedding tears in waves and droves,
Drowning in battle.... I hear the words reach for me again
Time passes, yet stops as the river flows around me
I beg release from this war, This battle of tears
She rampages on, binding me tight and refusing release
The flood sweeps away all that has kept me cold
I am bathed in a white light of melodic words
They heal me, Love me and Set me Free
I am transcended to a place of comfort and serenity
Acceptance of what must be
I am cleansed, I am Free
Baptism brought fourth by the power of music
