I left you in the wake
Of emotions dreary grey
A decision I had to make
In a condescending way

A friendship I had to take,
Emotions I had to betray,
And a heart I had to break:
My own, I led astray

A decision I have to make, not just the once
But every single day.

I didn't mean to hurt you
I only wanted release from the pain
Of love unrequited, of questions unanswered
Of living my life
And trying to hide
The tears within the rain.

Everything became misguided
In a fraction of a blink
And I'm left feeling undecided
Unsure, and out of sync.

I guess I just wanted to make
My apologies today.

And let you know that through it all,
I will be okay.
