Click hereBefore I met you… my soul was in torment.
Terrible images of my past
were like sharp pieces of glass
cutting at my heart
causing me to bleed internally
with no bandage in sight.
Before I met you… my heart was shattered.
With each pump of its blood,
it had given to others
over and over again.
Its’ reward was to be trampled upon
by those uncaring souls
until it finally gave up
and became broken and tattered.
Before I met you… my life had no meaning.
I would wake up to a daily routine
placed before us by some uncaring God.
I would work despite my inner torment.
Looking at the happy people,
wishing I could share in their joy.
I would come home
where loneliness would envelope me.
Solitude and I were best friends.
Before I met you… despair was my blanket.
I would lie in my bed,
allowing the days to pass by.
Wishing my broken heart would give up its struggle to heal,
wishing I would die.
Death, like others failed me…
And then I met you…
