I should 'face reality'.
I'm in a dreamworld
a fantasy
a fairy tale
and you were my prince charming.
You swept me up off of my feet,
then you dropped me.

Without getting into any complicated (and IMO futile) debate on what defines (or at least describes) 'acceptable art' vs. 'good art' vs. 'outstanding art'; at times we hear the back hand compliment: ‘it's X (evaluator) on a curve', namely- for this forum but not per some abstract universal standard. I can say that one can easily be swept into too narrow 'cliquish' judging norms. But I have to say that I feel that many of the people who have been commenting here on a somewhat regular basis have been demonstrating an encouraging open mindedness to a very wide scale of styles in the poetry section (Yeah!). That's why I was disappointed with the last comment. It's the commenter full right to post any opinion of course. But what I would call 'High brow' poetry isn't necessarily "objectively superior" to simple quick poems which play differently on the reader’s emotions expectations and mindset. The ninth symphony by Beethoven isn't ‘objectively superior’ to the “Beatles” “Michelle" and the latter isn’t superior to nonsense rhymes.
load from a poet who can and has on many occasions, done much better. What has happened to the wonderful poetry that once emerged from this sewer called Lit?
Girl, you can, and have done much better. shame on you for posting this
Lesson: read/dream fairy tales; don't jump into them.
The price of pain: well worth it to my estimate
