BERT’S PLACE 771030/ CAPE COD

By JCSTREET © 2004

Robin’s hair
falling to the surf
ties the knot
‘twixt rock and sea

Reddish in firesun
stop of afternoon it
ties the knots we
unravel at night

Russet, rust-hued, redded and warm
its firepoints
run the blood up
into our bodies

the ocean dark as wine

flows up in a heart burst
