Stepping stones thrown to the floor
Our spirits broken and nailed to the door
Taken for granted what we used to know
Glorified massacres in the name
In the name of a god we don't even know

Minds crushed like our hearts
We've been broken and forced apart
Our bones shattered and all that matters
Is seeing through to tomorrow

I never wanted to be your hero
Someone adored and relied on
All I needed to be was better than zero
But now I'm breaking apart
Under the weight of world
That rejected me

Those we crushed to become who we are
The graves are cracked and from afar
We look like the grieving ones
But we never knew who they were
All we did was take their lives and break them
In the name of a god we don't wanna know

Memories fade like wounds
But they don't forget and neither do we
Our mirrored eyes are shattered and all that matters
Is seeing what lied beyond

I never chose to become your hero
Someone expected and prayed to
All I want is to be better than zero
But now I'm falling from grace
Under the weight of a world
That made me believe
Nothing is what it seems

Good luck becoming a god
The power of death only makes you mad
Wish me luck becoming just another man
Wasting his life away day by day
And yet I'll defeat you
All to become a hero no one needs
Your bones crack underneath my feet
Under the stairs I built from your end

I never wanted to be a hero
But you were a villain
So I played my part and ended the misery
And took my place in history
All because I wanted to be better than zero
Now I'm less than I was before
So here's my goodbye as I hit the floor
