The fusion is made.

Between fire and ice,
Time has been stayed.

Between fire and ice,
The lovers do lay.

Between fire and ice,
Stolen moments to take.

Between fire and ice,
Not a heartbeat too soon.

Between fire and ice,
Their love is refueled.

Between fire and ice,
Forever they do stay.

Between fire and ice,
A love never to sway.

Between fire and ice,
Two souls unite.

Between fire and ice,
Their love is so right.

"Between fire and ice," is used 10 times ~ get rid of 8 of those instances and merge the lines into two stanzas; works much better.
