The days are long
and last halfway through the night.
Driver's ed and two jobs
none I particularly like.
Going everyday just to stay afloat
to maintain my independence.
They may break my back
but I'm still standing.

In the best of all possible worlds…

…Don’t expect any help

I can just hear a voice of a protest singer (may be not nowadays anymore) singing as if a hymn, the wrongs of the bare naked system which gives every one the equal freedom to work two three shift just so that you don’t drown. And if you are sick - be our guest, at any time you can freeze under the bridge (just don’t be seen, and don’t disturb the pedestrians).

Help!

A quiet plea for better times ~ how many are barely staying afloat by working several jobs.

Wonderful poem...

I wonder how many are in that same predicament - I know of a few myself.
