Beyond the Truth
By SilentMercy

You look down
The crimson flood caressing your soft skin
Memories fading from within, without
You lean down
And taste the relief
And there is a pain...
You can only keep the part of yourself that matters...

Beyond the moon, and the blood
Your eyes, so heavy, begin to see the truth
And beyond the truth there lies a canvas
Upon which the eyes of the trees and the rocks
And the liars can be painted...

For it is in the moments when pain and pleasure
Melt together in a vile bisque of salt-like essence,
That we begin to know our hearts
And our hearts, battered, bruised, begin to beat again.
