My heart is stark, my soul is dark,
I seek a cool place to lay my tear-warmed face.
A friend is a foe, my thoughts turn to woe,
Her precious face my memory seeks to erase.

Time gives me pain, and she can't explain
The reason she leaves, and so I now grieve
For what I have missed, I've been so remiss
In loving her, friends as we were.

We've changed, been rearranged,
Been through hell, stumbled and fell,
Risen high, touched the sky,
Without each other, no sign of one another.

Driven to try, no time to ask why
We've drifted apart, and so shall depart
As strangers. Staying endangers
Past feelings and dealings.

Goodbye my love, my light from above,
We part congenial, no action too menial,
A hug and a kiss, to remind you I'll miss
My love, my life, my wife.

my heart is stark , my soul is dark .......

real Gothic lines .....the Bronte sisters would be proud of this line but the rest of your Poem failed to maintain that aura of chillin' Horror : 5-ed only for this line
