Black Bat Chocolate Bar

(note: I first published this poem four years ago toward the end of college. It was words describing a stream of memories from earliest to latest. A few days ago, I added on to it.)

Freddie Flinstone milk bottle
nursery carpet, forgotten toys

big black tire, charming freckled woman

hall water-fountain, history of classical world

after-school dreaming concrete walks, beer bottles, friends blonde

grassy urban park, Frapuccino, Chelsea

icy drive, wired technical campus

eggs sausage white, television inmates

Taurus back-seat, nice slim punk girl

pot many times, largely forgotten

black bat chocolate bar, internet

Thailand, elephants, pink sun, rice paddies

grad school, Saudis, martinis

shrooms, swirling balcony, many-colored face, atheism

college library, lost, poor, inspired poetry

break-down, psych ward, oaks, death throes

Ashland, sulfur, Buddha's tea-room

Christmas tree,   art,    perseverance
