Take Your finger
and place it in my mouth
that You might touch the Hope
that lingers there
Let me suck
Your bitterness away
and replace it
with sweet entreaty
Scrape the roof of my mouth
and peel away the layers of mistrust
that grew like barnacles
upon my underside
Press my tongue
that only whispered
words of love be uttered
in Your lordly presence
Push down my throat
that i may offer up and expunge
all the evil deeds
from my very depths
Thus pure and naked
i kneel before You
a blank slate
upon which to write Your story
