Bohemians On The Edge of America

byseannelson©

dedicated to George Soros

Walkin by the side of the road,
cars come zooming by,
some don't seem to care,
if I live or if I die

living on the edge of America,
trying to be free,
seems like there's a wall of riot shields,
trying to push us into the sea.

Toking in a bathroom of my university,
then composing proletariatry,
hoping to help some people see,
before the man kills me.

Walking by the side of the road,
losing and finding reality,
'd like to but I cannot believe
that with time we reap what we sow.

Bohemians on the edge of America,
don't wanna live the corporate lie;
everybody's priming their weaponry,
seems high noon is drawing nigh.
I don't want to
but I ain't scared to die,
said I ain't scared to die.

Walking by the side of the road,
cars come zooming by,
trying to do something for the global community,
don't even have a bike to ride.

Luther King had a dream for America:
In this equality I believe.
Now Obama seems poised for the presidency,
but things are not as they seem:
8% of blacks still live in slavery

Walking by the side of the road,
ain't no sidewalk to protect me,
some clowns call this the land of opportunity:
I say their ancestors played dead at Normandy,
played dead on the coast of Normandy.

Living on the edge of America;
No, I ain't as desperate as some;
there's wise people shivering in sleeping bags,
waiting for revolution's sun,
waiting for that revolutionary sun.

Walking by the side of the road,
I ain't no son of America,
don't worship in the church of the bomb:
Wake up, flower children, ain't shit changed since Vietnam;
said you're all that's changed since Vietnam.
