Bound

Bound by the ropes of submission I crawl;
Bound by the chains of slavery I walk;
Bound by the shackles of solitude I run;

Only my thoughts keep me company;
Only my desire drives me on;
Only my lust lights the way;

In the darkness I trudge on;
In the loneliness of my soul I yearn;
In the depth of my mind I wonder;

Why eat . . . when hundreds go hungry?
Why drink . . . when thousands go thirsty?
Why live . . . when millions don't matter?

I am who I am;
I am who you want me to be;
I am . . . Who I am . . .

Am I Black to you?
Am I Brown to you?
Am I White to you?

AM I HUMAN TO YOU?

I am bound is all I know;
In the ropes, the chains, and the shackles of life . . .

~~

A rather cynical outlook of what it means to live.
