Sitting by the lake his pole against a stump,
Out next to his bobber a fish did jump.
The ripples in the water were rolling away,
His line didnt move from the spot where it lay.
There he sits with great anticipation,
Wishing the pole to bend with a little action.
All of a sudden his line starts to peel,
Jumping to his feet and grabbing his reel.
Setting the hook without being rattled,
My boy vs. the fish in an epic battle!
Spinning his reel with all his might,
The fish is giving one a helluva fight.
Soon it was over no real contest,
My boy was determined and refused to rest.
His pole in one hand and fish in the air,
Smiling proudly, for the pictures we'd share.
