A place I've found could be ours

A place carpeted with golden flowers

And gazed upon by great oak trees

But I've seen where you would rather be

In shadow, alone and forever bound

I hate to see you slowly drown

But instead I must watch you from afar

And listen as I prop up this bar

To your distant cries anguish and hurt

I so wish you’d leave that dirt

But I turn and slowly close the gate

And go back to await my sorry fate

Life eternal, outstretched, grey

I wish there’s someway I could convey

That together we’d scale such heights

And sample all of life’s delights

Oh we’d have problems to overcome

But I know that when each day was done

We’d fall into each others arms

And search and find each others charms

Thunder deaf and lightning blind

We’d outshine the rest of all mankind

On my knees you make me fall

To beg this chance to show them all

That love can outlast every heartache

And float above each violent ground shake

This song I write deep from my heart

And hope that some small hopeful part

Of your broken, hurting soul

Can reach out to the whole

And show you that history

Doesn’t have to be

The same old ride

Take your pride

break free

with me
