Listen, what’s that, a whisper I hear
A soft lowly voice starts to appear
I look to the corner, the shadow in blur
My eyes dilate, I wait to deter.

It’s hard to think clear, imagination a mess
Boom,- boom, boom, my heart under stress.
The sweat on my hands, forehead and feet
Makes me aware, I’m no longer asleep.

I stand to attention, the voice is so piercing
Overawe with fright, I begin to start fearing
Trepidation a must, as I listen in vain
I wonder in awe as to what is exclaimed.

But wait, I can hear, the voice is now clear
It asks as to why, I am still here.
But what I ask back, who is this weird voice
I turn to see, at my own choice

Oh no, I scream, its time already
The morning has come, I better get ready.
My stomach rumbles, a hungry tum
I turn to the voice,
Some breakfast please mum!

Not as old as you'd assume

Probably getting ready for school;

Nice light witty little read.
