There is always here,
a drunk on the bus,
a beggar by the bank,
a lout on the square.

There are always here,
spivs on the street,
kids on the loose,
women on the run.

There are always here,
screams in the night,
men going down,
passions turning nasty.

There’s always here,
lovers on the prom,
bodies under the piers,
lives on the skids.
