Blood and tears
Both are shed
Between the altar
And the last verse read

Bonds are forged
Then hearts are broken
Meant or not
By words they've spoken

She lays her head
On another's shoulder
But warmth for her,
Makes his blood run colder.

Faith turns to fear
Passion to anger
Two souls once joined
Turn into strangers

A void appears
Where once love lived
Wrongs committed
That they can't forgive.

The day then comes
And the door swings closed
On sacred vows
They once proposed.

She asks him to leave
Before hatred devours
What's good left between them
Like flame to dry flowers

With tears in his eyes
And a knife through his heart
He gathered whats his
And prepared to depart.

Now he swears he still loves her
And the airs filled with silence
So he locks himself up
Lest his grief turn to violence.

With nowhere to go,
Heart broken, soul bleeding
He puts pen to paper
And writes what you're reading.

The story's not over
His verse wont be ended
On some page in the future
His heart might be ended

Until then he weeps
And between tears he writes
Till ink fills the day
And pages the night

He opens his mind
And gathers the parts
Of a grief stricken soul
And a fragmented heart

Someday he'll lay his pen aside
And close the cursed book
That tells of a ruined life
And the broken vows he took.
