I sought the salt
over the months
feet toughen as
tans golden

driving beat...lost the handles
trimmed down to fit my age,
I mellowed out
aqua view bathed in amber

shorts no shoes
to the mailbox this morning
my nipples harden in the chill,
my heart sinks knowing.....

...........another season of
aqua and amber has passed
through the hourglass
leaving only leaves to brown.

leaving me with just the amber...
.........the satisfaction of knowing,
while summer pasted
it didn't pass me by

Loved that 'lost the handles,'

As you sing your praises for the season;

Yet with its end have no regrets.
