to burn unkempt
in the bullseye glass of a home-cum-hotel
littered
with greed
raised gardens hide
bodies in flower roots
not too deep, shaded pools
herbs and cukes, fingertips to tomato skins
neither pluck nor burst their ripeness
i shuck corn while you and the grubs dance

I had to go and google 'cukes'! I have just this minute gathered a bumper harvest of tomatoes and been put right off them!

Weird and complex. I could practically smell the decomposing flesh. Unsettling but I like it.
