Don't chide the sun, dear John,
It only makes
Me visible to you; it's never done
Disservice to the brimming heart that takes
Its cue from warmth and laughter, song and light –
Behold! I'm here for you:
I'll stay here through
The sunny daytime till again it's night
And the old sun's concluded one more flight.

Or do you fear to see
Me in the nude?
We're not in Hades here; your seeing me
Won't drive me back to Hell's long solitude
If you but let me smile into your eyes,
So leave the sun at rest:
This life is best
When its strong rays produce clear, cloudless skies –
It's not the sun, but only man that pries.

Lovely echoes here

But you already know that. My favorite line:

"It's not the sun, but only man that pries."

Through thick or thin!

My favorite line is

" If you but let me smile into your eyes,"

I really connected with this poem.
