Call

I was lonely before the day I met you and am lonely again today
You won't tell me to get out of your life and you can't tell me to stay
I didn't want to complicate your life, I didn't want your all
If you ever want me enough to see me again, pick up the phone, call

You said only people who need you in their life are ones that you need in yours.
But I made it clear I needed you in mine more than anyone I'd met in years.
Maybe that's what scares you and locks me outside your wall
If you ever need me enough to see me again, pick up the phone and call.

If you can't be true to your feelings, you can trample on another's
If you can't be honest with yourself, you can't be truthful to others
I don't need you to string me along and don't need your all
If you ever trust me enough to see me again, pick up the phone and call

I heard you tell more than a few lies but I did not want to believe
That your feelings for me were just more of that big tangled web you weave
But maybe this is the best way, I can no longer offer my all
If you ever need to lie to an old friend again, pick up the phone and call
