What I want isn't what I need
And what I need isn't what I want
Can't seem to make my mind understand my heart
Disillusioned by bitter truths and jaded lies

Covet the beast inside
Free to ravage and rage
Tear me apart

In my mind and heart
A piece of my soul
I'm twisted and used

Losing who I am
Compelling burdens
Chained by responsibility
I'm wasting away

Empty promises breed
As if we feel the crucifixion of our love
Sacrificed for broken bonds on sacred vows

The imagined conflict between heart and mind. The heart bears true hope that the next love will be the one; the mind trusts no one since they've misled in the past. The trick is to reconcile the two and achieve harmony ~ and love.
