Can I Have What I Want?

Beautiful inside and out,
but jaded.
Perfect skin, face and hair,
so I waited.
After weeks of wanting more
became complicated.
Should I wait for her
I contemplated?
The electricity passing through me
quickly faded.
I hoped she felt it too,
but then she stated.
She didn't feel the same,
we never dated.

I know that in my heart
that I am giving.
Without true love in my life,
I'm not living.
Even though I'm wandering lost,
I am surviving.
But so many out there,
Are so conniving.
Wanting it so bad
Is desensitizing.
The thought of love for me,
still mesmerizing.
Am I patiently waiting,
or fantasizing?
