The new, new age shop
sells flutes, jewelry, books, and art:
also peace and love
The high sushi joint
is novel and packed: seaweed,
eel, vodka, bamboo
Thai plant turns people
into shirts and trousers that
clothe the U.S.A.
Ants in sky-scrapers,
in steel car shells, in ant-planes:
all reading Thoreau
Poetry is kids' play,
ditto philosophy. Now,
foot-ball's "business"
In the woods, lizards
eat ants and birds eat them both:
ant bonds, lizard stocks
Rich coyotes eat
fat profits. Top dogs, they are
now "philanthropists"
The coffee-house king
gave me a free java shot,
then back to baking
