The closet shut, left inside.
Feeling as though the whole world died.
Darkness fills the infinite space.
Sensing it's such a familiar place.
A voice from far away pleading to take me away.
Reaching out a ready hand, relieved to leave this day.
Why did you not come for me sooner?
How I prayed that I wouldn't stay longer.
Looking back at where I had lay.
Seeing a lifeless shell of what looks like a toy thrown away.
The stuffing torn out, the mouth too faded to see.
Why can't she move?
Why can't she breath?
Why can't she speak?
Why can't she feel anymore?
I am so old, she is so young.
Split in two.. lost now.. from what others have done.
Her spirit so meek, her feelings so unsafe to explore.
Her tattered blonde hair pasted to her saline soaked face.
Her light blue eyes that had once searched for any comfort she could embrace.
Unable to return to my body...
Unable to leave completely...
Caught between, life and death....
