Celebration

Today's a celebration,
a special day for two,
our one year anniversary,
where love between us grew.

It hasn't seemed that long,
since our first tentative words,
and now a whole year has passed,
and the days have blurred.

They've blurred into a happiness,
so magical in the extreme,
I turn and twist to pinch myself,
to see if it's all only a dream.

How did I get so lucky,
to be blessed with a love so true,
when did my fortunes turn so bold
and put before me you.

You're someone that I treasure,
like my own little special gem,
you add brilliance and sparkle,
a million lights from within.

You've changed everything,
and made it feel so right,
You've taken my darkest days,
and stripped from them the night.

Every little aspect,
of everything I do,
has become a pleasure,
because I always know I have you.
