Stumbling, stammering,
Words a jumble.
Hearts racing.
Trying to get out,
What wants to be said.
Though to fearful too.

Too many times,
Long before.
Cut, dropped,
And left alone.
Crying, hurting,
Inside but not out.

Wearing ones heart,
On the sleeve.
Risking it all,
For just a chance.
Time heals all
And time always tell.

Heal the heart,
Feed the soul.
Protect the wound,
Though take a dare.
Chance the risk,
For ones own happiness.

Sounds a bit like Mom's prescription for salvaging one's love life.
