You cannot know what I can be,
If you have never looked in me.
The things that I could do for you,
The things in me you’d find are true.

Am I a prince? A warrior king?
A minstrel who can make you sing?
A silent master of the soul?
A part of you that makes you whole?

If I were deep inside of you,
Perhaps you’d taste a kiss or two,
Then you would know what’s inside me,
And maybe then you’d make it three.

I am right here, for you to see,
A something that few somethings be,
A polished or unpolished gem,
A someone who’s not one of them.

The wonders you will never learn,
The ways I make your sweet soul burn,
The joys that you will not forget —
That have not been invented yet.

As I pass by, you do not see,
The things that you'd become with me,
Yet since we never try to know,
How far apart our futures grow.

A missing fragment of a tale,
The disappearing, flapping sail
That takes my ship away and gone,
You’ll never know that I’m the one.
