Chasing rainbows in the winter
have you ever seen?

a lone thunderstorm, grumbling, high upon the desert
polite, snow dances, a blameless sky weeps

Chasing rainbows in the winter
we were all, once, kings and queens

do you remember now?

how in gem-filled eyes, oh, the colors sparkled
right there, just, within our reach

Chasing rainbows in the winter; right there
within our reach
