CHASING SHADOWS

There is a girl I like,
And when I'm near her
I feel nervous
And my heart beats like a drum solo.
I want so much to tell her how I feel,
But I know the right words would never pass my mouth.
Feels like I'm chasing shadows.

I know I can't be with her,
Can't hold in my arms
Can't run my fingers through her long flowing hair
Can't caress her silky skin
Can't listen to her soft voice whispering in ear
I doubt I'll ever know how she feels about me.
Feels like I'm chasing shadows.

I want to talk to this angel,
I want this angel to be with me.
But I know that won't happen
Because I can't say how I feel.
So I go on chasing shadows.

If you never ask, you'll never hear no; but then you've given a no in advance.
