~The missing piece of my heart has your name in ink,
like a rampant tattoo of a Harpy
winged in full stride.
Always just over the hill, around the corner,
ahead of me in the eerie distance.
Up a stairwell, down the next isle,
I've chased your perfumed shadow,
sweeping up and down deserted dark streets,
looking for you in a vase of wilting poppies.

The styles and ways
of missing you are myriad.
The times we've shared,
make space and time tolerable, unbreakable.
I've pondered my rummer,
as the Burgundy in its chamber reflected Medusa's face above.
Though tart, astringent in flavour,
nothing has been as palatable
as your kisses.
Across the distance of our
bittersweet separation,
Medusa's face shows this satisfied smile,

she chased the Harpy away with Bacchus aid.~
