He always finds
a way to draw her
out of what she
knows is right-
to wheedle
just enough
to win her
over-
to nuzzle
just enough,
there,
on the nape
of her neck,
and she caves
like a falling rain
of tiny pebbles-
slow at first
like sand sliding
in a misty shower,
then more,
and the rocks
grow bigger
than all his thoughts
inside her head,
driving her insane.
