Clarity is cold, is moon - the sun
diffuses light in illusion, warm
and drowsy. Clarity is slow. It comes
like an unwanted cat that stealthily
insinuates itself upon your lap -
when you notice its presence it has
been there some time. As morning guides you
slowly into being, after eyes open but before
admitting it's time to start the day's perusals
one may lie in a blank mind's comfort,
a moment's quietude, free from the sore tooth's nagging,
almost like happiness until the soft paw's back
imploring attention. Its ragged fur says
it's been on the prowl too long, damp, sticky,
after the birds - a kindred spirit,
cat-seeker, rover, cold moon.

Clarity...

...is sneaky, isn't it? I hate clarity sometimes!
