Too much noise, many pleading little voices.
They’re all just echoes bouncing off of distant walls.
It runs parallel to here and it is solid.
It is steel. It is stone. It is anything hard,
Unbreakable and strong.

Too many words have been repeated.
All sounds sound the same, vacant and empty.
Distant rumbles from distant cannons.
They cause no worry. Their shells can not
Reach us all the way over here.

But still the ground shakes on occasion.
We feel it come and go. We pay it no mind.
We have more important things to occupy our time.

The smell of roses burning under the heat of our new sun.

Was this one done while in rehab? Reading some of your other pieces, at times it seems drugs become a routine part of the tale...

Drugs...

Make for good inspiration, do they not?
