He bore a childish quality
that first amused me

I half expected him to appear on stilts
as laughter ascended to new heights

So sure he would take me high places
I waited, eyes to the sun

I waited
while he tinkered with thoughts

He’d discovered a new toy
to engage

Yes, he was a child
that’s for sure

I just didn’t imagine
I’d end up being played

:)

Enjoyed the poems progression. I wish for this poem a different title. Too trite.
