She arrived
in her f-me heels
tight black dress
fast German wheels,
convertible
glossy black
carrying a
paper sack,
two big cans
of micro beer
she checked herself
the rear view mirror,
opened the door
slid from her shell
on a mission
one could tell,

She walked my way
towards my stone seat
hot summer day
one could feel the heat,
across the square
the click click click
of her four-inch heels
she could have her pick,
her hair tied back
her legs too long
her dress so short
it wouldn't be long,
'til she was here
in front of my spot
she stopped and said
"damn it's hot..."

"I've got some beers
they're cold as ice
we could each drink one
would that not be nice?"
I agreed it would
and she set right down
she had the coldest
beer in town,
she had the hottest
summer style
the tightest dress
I'd seen in awhile,
kicked off her heels
her calling card
you know what
was getting hard,

We drank our beers
discussed the weather
the temperature
and whether,
our team would win
the war would end
would we go to hell
if we sinned,
we agreed that likely
we were fated
all the people
we had dated,
all our late-night
carnal action
unable to
escape attraction,

We tossed the beer cans
in the bin
she put on
those heels again,
suggested that we
take a stroll
across the park
the old flag pole,
that stands erect
through the day
into the night
what can I say,
waves the flag
to those who watch
I felt a twitch
in my crotch,

We walked together
click click click
hand-in-hand
take your pick,
Harry and Sally
Bonnie and Clyde
two asteroids
about to collide,
past flower sellers
beggars with signs
warning of
the End of Times,
a small hotel
I paid with cash
up the stairs
slow motion flash,

Later that night
still warm outside
both exhausted
from the ride,
stood by the window
open wide
no black dress
nothing to hid,
the park was quiet
the flag pole flaccid
this diamond girl
each sharp facet,
makes me happy
makes me sad
but I cherish each
of the times we've had ...
