you and i
now at gulfs,
the distance
more than a reach or lust away

you and i
beyond the meaning
of our words,
and the smooth caress
that trembles the body.

and now the gulf blooms
to a sea, and the blue
undulating
clutches us
pulls us hapless in
our lust and despair.

until the moment
in our half lives,
when a collision of
mechanical jerking limbs
finds us connected
until the spasiming final gasp.

then inevitably
the gulf between you and i
blooms.

~~

No amount of lust can close the gulf that blossoms here.

it's the last stanza that got me....

you've managed to capture the desperation.

tragic

you captured that tragic, sorriful, state that some unions ,come to, and yet are unable to correct or end.
