you and i
now at gulfs,
the distance
more than a reach or lust away
you and i
beyond the meaning
of our words,
and the smooth caress
that trembles the body.
and now the gulf blooms
to a sea, and the blue
undulating
clutches us
pulls us hapless in
our lust and despair.
until the moment
in our half lives,
when a collision of
mechanical jerking limbs
finds us connected
until the spasiming final gasp.
then inevitably
the gulf between you and i
blooms.
