Electrical energy flashes and sparks
a crimson haze of light burns, glowing

Pressure building with each second idled
the beam is passed around through tension in the air

Skeptical, pessimistic, anxious, fearful
save for that static whine of sparks blurring, silent

Trepidation in his footsteps
Apprehension in his heartbeat
Weight on his shoulders

The fragile, precious, delicate gem carried close
and all, save for those crackling sparks, silent

Calm atmosphere
Quiet apotheosis
The trigger cries
ROAR

As a bolt of lightning;
As a blast of thunder;
One fired round. One chambered shell.

Clatters to the floor, sparks screaming and fading out
"Med dropped"

Stop, time, thou art so beautiful.
Welcome back to TF2, Carter.
