Music plays, a heart races in the night,
because she knows soon enough he will be home
and in her arms. She slowly tries to fight,
off the sleep so she will hear the phone.

He sleeps fitfully knowing he is homeward
bound. Sleep is something that is lost to him tonight.
His thoughts go to her as he throws his rig forward,
in hopes of making it home on this dark night.

She listens to the wind in hopes of hearing him.
She watched the cars and rigs pass by her place,
her heart longs for him.
She wants to see his face.

Listening to the hum and whine of the road
he is reminded of her great love.
He pushes his rig a little farther down the road.
Hoping to get home, so he can be with the one he loves.
