grace of life in full bloom
I pause
admiring
your gentle curves

delicate petals
beneath my
gentle
fingertips

you exist
for me
alone
in this moment

taken for granted
forsaken by the world
yet ever radiant
in your solitude

my lungs fill
with sweetness
your soft fragrance
and I marvel

I sought only
to love you
in your magnificent
simplicity

yet in sore amazement
I cling tenderly
to your beautiful offering
in humbled ecstasy

my soul stirs
where once dormant
and I would that
you might last forever

though with time
you will fade from me
I will always return
to smell the flowers
