The Inner Realm of the Heart

You cannot turn your back on love
But in dreams you can have eternity
You cannot disagree with love
Your heart does as it should
And you cannot flee from it

I will leave you to a place you cannot follow

Can you see the darkness caving
Creeping
Can you feel the moon receedig


Necromantic horrors haunt me
Like that of a mist settling over all
I am condemned to walk
For even death shall spit me back out

I see eyes
Following me from here to there
Making their presence known in little ways
Bewitching the mind to believe
You cannot fight alone
In the battle of love or life
You can only be at best
And let yourself fall to acceptance

Kneeling at your feet
I will ask you to hold me closely
In the hours of most dark
I will embrace your knee and beg of you
Grant me the mercy that will allow me to stand

Pushing, pulling
Not knowing which way I want you
I make an attempt to run
I hope to heal myself for others can lie
In my world it is safe

You came and shattered my world like the ghosts that haunt me
Picking up my broken body
You carry me to salvation
And in your arms I am whole
No longer naked and alone
