Confession

“I must confess,”
she said to Her,
“my feelings for You have grown.”

‘I knew all already,
My little one,
Do you imagine they hadn’t shown?’

“I wish to bend my knee to You,
and serve You as best I can –
but it’s all a dream, it’s in my head
And there it must remain.”

‘Little one, worry no more,
For many have these dreams.
My own dear slave has them too,
But his devotion to me’s unchanged.

Now run along and do your chores
And report back when they are done
And fret no more, and please do smile
W/we’ll be great friends for ever more.’
