Her world could often be as blue as her eyes
But it was what she saw in him which took her by surprise
The days spent sharing and the nights full of dreams
All at once she wondered if things were as they seemed

The path behind her was full of uncertainty and pain but
Now she was comforted by the promise of undeniable change
Her internal conflict was no novel feat however
She'd become brave enough to confront instead of retreat

He did bring her joy and leave a smile on her face and
Standing next to him, she never felt out of place, but
She doesn't believe in happily ever after, no that's not their plan.
It's all the same to her though as she's welcomed home by another man.

Evocative

Your writing is excellent -- not only can I feel the emotions running through your mind, but many of mine join in the race. Keep writing! ;)
