Sitting in a tree, looking into the blue
Wondering, Lord, O, Lord, what am I gonna do?
You promised me sunshine, and I only see rain
You said I'd feel joy, but I only feel pain.

It seems like the world, as it spins around
Grabs hold of my heart and only brings me down.
I realize today, is only one of few
That I've actually stopped to have a talk with You.

But I haven't had trials or valley's to go through
So, I haven't needed You to do the things that You do.
But, now I'm on my knees, begging for Your ear
Asking You to walk by and perhaps linger near.

I'm trying to do what's right and please You as best I can
I ask that You'll protect me and try to understand.
I'll slip my hand into Yours
And walk by faith and not by sight,
Treasuring the rain...
And walking to the Light.
