“Consumed” you say,
“I am afraid for you.”
Your words tingle down my spine,
mixed emotions, intangible.

Such diverse circumstances
surreptitiously led you and I
to this place, both consumed
by the same menacing evil.

The possibility of us being
consumed by only each other
is too obscure to hold hope.
Deeper into oblivion we spiral.

Consumed.
