Fear produces potent
Amygdalic release
a toxic rush of
cortisol dopamine and norepinephrine
cascade through your axons

very core of the brain
Lizard like and ancient
comes alive

you cannot by nature
ignore it's power

Nature designed it that way

but you me we
are human
and we have
if we so choose
the power to put this potion in its place

our brains can say nay
we will not allow
these thoughts to linger
But
to be able to stop thoughts

you must have control of your mind.

when you find darkness
Unnecessary and unwelcome
do not engage
acknowledge and release
redirect your thoughts to something productive

persistent thought
can be chased away with logic
and dismissed
but you must believe in yourself
and the power you possess
to change.

Human brains
use em
or get used by em.

Okay, fine, if you say so

But it still sounds like something we good kids avoided in the sixties...

The lizard brain...the Amygdala‎...the same one we share with lizards...this part of the brain was the first to develop. Evolution spent many years building brain structures to control those base urges.

You love things cascading through your neurons, that's the problem...these chemicals are like a drug, you feel them and you need more. Brains evolved to reward these chemicals of fear because you're more likely to survive if you fear.

Okay, my scientific lady

The first part was scary but great message. I don't think I like things cascading through my axons - do I?

Dragons of Eden by Dr Carl Sagan does talk about some

Pre historic lizard brain neo-cortex : i'm confused about your lizard core brain whether it's the same concept as Dr. Sagan was pushin' ?
