I once bask in the wake of your cleansing
Purity to be found within the rings of your whim
Now you are desolate to my rebellious cause, with no meaning
We fall like angels from heaven as the strings from your guitar
Rip in two-as limbs without bones sulk into nothing but skin
Mine was ever lovely yours alabaster
You bastard
You sinner
You liar
You
Beautiful
Perfect
Tragedy
Meaningless we once by the ocean seas
Strumming songs of dignity and epiphany graced cords of resolution
Solution- your interlude is pollution
The devil laughs- a whimsical lover heard in the melody
Notes scrapping my bitter tongue, burning
My song
Lost is my voice
Cracked as you change tune
Damming my cords and ignoring my pleas
You play in selfishness
Indulge in guilty pleasure
I own no part of my body
I own all of my mind
I own no part of this written
Work
You become an imposter
The longer your interlude mirrors infidelity
Aggression in fear
Blind is another word for vision blurred by soft whispers and false promises
I use to sing
My vocal cords burst with ecstasy and we writhed in the safe haven that was my song
I was living life like a match, setting us on fire
We were suppose to go down in flames
Never the same, you are deranged
Your touches seek insanity and your eyes sought for vanity and I fought for our humanity-and you..just...breathed
A final kiss-
Only to dismiss
Reminescent scents
Am I losing sense of reality?
Where is your rationality?
Is there no shame
I a biblical scripture
Sacrifice religious damnation
Spare your insignificant life play until your fingers go numb
I curse you
My song has been lost forever'
You have no muse and I am no use
Anger boils inside of me
And we are foul play
You're nonchalant and I take your guitar
And smash it into pieces and watch
Them with satisfaction as they
Are conquered by the waves
And washed into the ocean along
With your tears, you shall never strum
Another note and the murder you have wrote for me
Your skin pales
You have nothing to
Live for now that I am free
Your interlude has met its end
Your eyes sink in and your body goes numb
With pain and you fall back against sand and I stand over you dropping my sheet of music upon your breast and you rest with death with the cords of songstress on your chest

I envision this as a one woman stage play based on some obscure Old World myth.
Add in a few songs and it could be an opera.
There is just way too much drama in the wording for me to picture it otherwise.more...

Some very pleasing phrases and images
There are some very pleasing phrases and images in this.
The difficulty I have (and I can only speak for myself) is that if the voice/style is portentous, it only has to falter in a couple of places where it does not convince me and I lose belief.
Thus I liked lines such as ‘Your touches seek insanity and your eyes sought for vanity and I fought for our humanity-and you..just...breathed’ but found for example ‘I a biblical scripture Sacrifice religious damnation’ unconvincing – I think ‘what if anything does the protagonist think he is in being a biblical scripture’ – so I lose belief in the poem. In terms of trying for ‘significance’, I suspect less can be more sometimes.
Anyway, good luck with your future poems.more...
